Imagine getting married at 16. Arial, a princess mermaid becomes human and marries a human prince at 16.
Today in Australia you'd be in year 11, or year 10 (eastern states), probably just getting your Ls trying to learn to drive. I wonder at what age it was then that you could drive a horse and cart on public roads...
Married at 16...

Yep, we're leaving things such as marriage a little older now because generally we can afford to with advances of medical science in western society. I guess if you think back to 500-600 years ago when average life expectancy was about 40-50years then you would've lived about a quarter of your life when you reach 16. We have so much tools in our choices of finding right career, partner etc. yet the saying goes "the more it changes, the more it stays the same". It ultimately is still boy meets girl, boy courts girl, boy tries to win girl over in hand of marriage... situations may change, formula remains relatively unaltered.
Not sure about the formula remaining the same especially when it comes to boy meets boy, or girl wins girl...
That was practiced during the times of OT when you read about the neighbors of the Israelites...and still is today.
I suppose the incorrect formula still exists and the saying you mentioned "the more it changes, the more it stays the same" even applies for things that aren't right according to God's standards.
